PRIVATE EYE | dir. Jan Chałupka
BLOCK A | Thursday 5:00 | Narrative Short | 39 minutes
Max Gracz, a relentless and somewhat drunken private detective, is hired for a routine job – to find the missing daughter of an influential businessman by a former acquaintance, who is the girl’s stepmother. Gracz is a contemporary incarnation of old-fashioned detectives like Filip Marlowe and Sam Spade. He is a bit too fond of the bottle and always seems to be getting into trouble. Things are no different this time – as soon as he starts the investigation, he gets into a fight with his former colleague from the force. As if that wasn't enough, the girl’s father doesn't like the fact that Gracz is sniffing around his family. The circle of Max’s “fans” quickly grows, just like the heap of problems encountered during the search.
