Director Biography - Gala Díaz

Graduada en Comunicación Audiovisual por la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, terminó sus estudios haciendo una estancia en la Universidad Nacional de San Martín, en Buenos Aires, cursando parte de la Licenciatura en Cine Documental y siendo directora de fotografía de "Offside", un cortometraje documental sobre un equipo de fútbol femenino de la Argentina.

Posteriormente, después de trabajar con varias productoras audiovisuales de Barcelona (Brutal Media SL y What 's Up Doc), de haber escrito un documental sobre personas transgénero y realizado otro sobre las diferentes opresiones de la mujer palestina (de la mano de la Associació Catalana per la Pau) y de trabajar como técnica de vídeo para un festival de cine documental de Bruselas, realizó un Master de Dirección Cinematográfica en la Escuela Superior de Cine y Audiovisuales de Cataluña (ESCAC). En el marco del máster, ha escrito y dirigido tres cortometrajes de ficción: 'Serafín', 'Run Amok', sobre tres chicas que se dedican a vengar a sus compañeras que han sufrido agresiones machistas, y 'Solsticio', la historia de una niña de 11 años que descubre que su madre tiene una relación afectiva con otra mujer. Además, ha formado parte del equipo de dirección de muchos cortometrajes, videoclips, series de televisión y largometrajes.

With a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, she finished her studies while staying at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín, in Buenos Aires, taking part in the Degree in Documentary Film and being Director of Photography for “Offside”. a documentary short film about a women's soccer team from Argentina.

Later, after working for several audiovisual production companies in Barcelona (Brutal Media SL and What's Up Doc), she wrote a documentary about transgender people and made another about the different oppressions of Palestinian women (by the hand of the 'Associació Catalana per la Pau') and she worked as a video technician for a documentary film festival in Brussels, she did a Master's in Film Direction at the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya (ESCAC). As part of her master's degree, she has written and directed three fiction short films: 'Serafín', 'Run Amok', about three girls who take revenge on their comrades who have suffered sexual aggressions and harrassment, and 'Solsticio', the story of an 11-year-old girl who discovers that her mother has an emotional relationship with another woman. In addition, he has been part of the Direction Department of many short films, music videos, television series and feature films.
