Director Biography - Eliza Gibson, Todd Eric Valcourt

Eliza is an award-winning queer writer, actor, first-time filmmaker and a sousaphone player based in Los Angeles. Trained as a classical pianist and drummer, Eliza wrote and performed her first solo show, DIALOGUES WITH MADWOMEN in 1995, after returning to the U.S. from the former Yugoslavia, where she had been a humanitarian aid worker. She wrote the narrative for MEMORIES DO NOT BURN, a documentary about war orphans and refugees featuring the voice of Sarah Jessica Parker. Eliza currently works for a health technology company, which may or may not have provided inspiration for her solo show, BRAVO 25: YOUR A.I. THERAPIST WILL SEE YOU NOW, which had a Mainstage run at The Marsh in San Francisco in 2018. Eliza began studying the art of screenwriting several years ago. Her scripts have been Stowe Story Lab selected projects and she has participated in Stowe’s Narrative Lab, Writers’ Retreat and The Writers Room. Her scripts have placed in competitions with Screencraft, Austin Film Festival and CineStory Foundation.

Co-Director Todd Eric Valcourt is an award-winning Producer, Director, Writer, Actor, Editor and Sound Designer. He began his career as a child actor but as he grew in the industry he discovered he loved being behind the camera as well. In 2006 Todd launched his film production company, Double Take Entertainment Group, and shot dozens of short films, television pilots, commercials and music videos. His success caught the eye of the renowned Fonco Studios, international miniature specialists (Nightmare Before Christmas, James and The Giant Peach) and they asked him to join their Los Angeles team as a partner. Double Take changed its name to The TV Studio in 2019. Todd works on projects for Disney and several Independent Studios.
