Is That a Mirage?

Juniper embarks on a journey into a dystopian wasteland to trade a Thickberry for a rare medication called Serenity, hoping to cure her family from the cancerous Sprayings. Along the way, her bitingly witty and yammering tumor Lump questions her motives. As Juniper battles her own illness and strange visions, including a talking bus stop and herself in a bathtub, she faces an internal struggle between duty and self-fulfillment. The film follows Juniper as she searches for purpose in a desolate world.
Director Biography - Grace Shi
Grace Shi is an LA–based producer, director, and WGA screenwriter whose work blends comedy and science fiction with a sharp satirical edge. Her debut short film IS THAT A MIRAGE? was a Semi-Finalist at the Oscar-qualifying Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival, and an official selection at CSA-qualifying Blood in the Snow, HollyShorts Monthly, Sherman Oaks Film Festival, and BizarroLand. Grace studied computer science at Harvard, where she also served as editor of THE HARVARD LAMPOON.
She is currently developing a slate of elevated, genre-bending projects that explore deeply human stories through surrealism and hilarity.
