Director Biography - Alec Bewkes

Alec Bewkes is an award-winning writer, director, and comedian based in Los Angeles. With over a decade of experience on both sides of the camera, he’s worked on projects ranging from scrappy short films to studio features with Oscar-winning directors.

His debut short Poor Tax won a Gold Remi Award at WorldFest Houston, was nominated for Short of the Year by Short Films Matter Magazine, and was later featured on Omeleto, YouTube’s leading short-film channel with over 3 million subscribers. His latest film, Shut Up, Jack, premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival and won the Grand Jury Prize for Best Comedy at SF Indie Fest.
