5Q's w/: Erin O'Shea "Quiet Your Mind" Writer, Producer

QUESTION#1: Can you describe your film in one sentence?: It's a hard-hitting exposé about what really goes on in my mind while diligently meditating....kind of.

QUESTION#2: What would you like the BSFF audience to know about your film that they wouldn't consider from it's title?: I made this four months postpartum and was running back and forth between "set" (my home office) and the nursery to check in with my mother who was watching our son. I could have used a few moments of mediation that day to (blurg, sorry to do this) quiet my mind.

QUESTION#3: Can you tell us about yourself and your filmmaking career?: Sure! This is my second short and second time collaborating with director, Jason C. Brown. Our first short, Meet Cute, was a 2021 Borrego Springs Official Selection, and can currently be viewed on Omeleto. I enjoy dark, dry humor, and try to write things that I'd want to watch.

QUESTION#4: What have you learned in the process of making your film?: I've learned that no matter how "micro" the film, it takes a great team to make it all come together. When you watch films, you think, "Oh, one location. That must have been a breeze!" or "That was only 3 minutes long! I could totally do that — heck, maybe even this afternoon between meetings!" And then you attempt it, and discover just how much goes into each second of every film. It's incredible (and overwhelming), but I'm very grateful to know so many people who are highly skilled at what they do. I mean, life/film is hilarious. Imagine being crammed in your office with the sound engineer stationed at your dining room table, and your director suggests that you do another take “without scratching your butt this time,” while your DP and AC who have both worked on major stuff are making sure your face is in focus. Movie magic!

QUESTION#5: What's does the future hold for this film and you?: We're currently enjoying its festival run. And preparing for our next **million dollar** short! :-)
