5Q's w/Jessica Sherr "Wicked Image" Producer

QUESTION#1: How do your top 3 favorite films influence your filmmaking?:

Films that influenced me as a filmmaker - Ferris Bueller’s Day Off - I love how the film draws the audience in and allows us to feel that we are part of the story. As a filmmaker, I always ask myself “How can I include my audience and allow them to feel they are part of the story-telling”. Titanic - I’ve always been one to dream big and films like Titanic with endless budget taught me to create on a level as though you can and you have everything you need. In Indie filmmaking we never have the budget so it’s taught me to be very resourceful with what you have, and copy what you love on a smaller scale. Labyrinth - I like make believe to allow the viewers to use their imagination and go on a journey. Plus David Bowie with his tight pants singing “Dance Magic Dance” has stayed with me…uhm forever. Films have a way of sticking. As a filmmaker I too want my films to be memorable and leave my viewer with lasting memories.

QUESTION#2: What do you wish someone would ask you about your film and why?:

“How did we come up with this concept of the 3 Devils being different people”? It’s interesting as Caitlin Scherer, my director, writer, co-producer was given a writing prompt from her twin sister about - "What if the Devil, Satan, and Lucifer were different people?" Then we added another twist, what if they were woman! Shifting from the Devils being men to woman opened up a whole new stylized world of Ultimate Woman’s Empowerment.

QUESTION#3: What scared you the most about making this film?:

We had to create a very stylized world. We had ambitions of finding a space that was high-end, decorated by a designer and fancy, but our budget didn’t come close to what we were looking at especially filming in New York City it’s very expensive. We had an ah-ha, if we found a space that was all white we could bring in our own furniture and props. That’s SCARY and CRAZY! When I realized - after committing to this idea- I was scared we had taken on too much and it was not possible in the short two day shoot to transform a space. We found the amazing Amanda Carmona for art department and she was excited to transform the space, we brought in Kevin Stinson to source the costumes - he drove over 2 hours to pick up the red fur coat, and we found that amazing chair on Craigslist and painted it! We even bought Stay Human Trash cans turned them upside down to look like turn-styles. The scariest part was we bought high end Red Glass figurines which we could not afford. As soon as we wrapped we put them back in the box and sent them back! I was terrified we’d taken on too much - looking back I’m so proud of our team dreaming big and saying Yes!

QUESTION#4: You have to choose one to make your next movie: 1) unlimited budget but only a single take of every shot 2) Academy award winning composer, but they're not allowed to watch the film 3) A-list cast, but they're directed using only charades. Which one do you pick and why?:

A-List Cast directed with Charades would be a huge challenge and would create an interesting ensemble piece that kills it comedy. I’d bring on -
Julie Louis-Dreyfus, Lisa Kudrow, Jessica Sherr, Rose Bryne, Mindy Kayling, Steve Martin, Robert Downing Jr, Jason Bateman, and Ryan Reynolds. This would be one heck of a funny cast to watch being directed by Charades. It’s a movie…3 syllables…two words…ACTION!

QUESTION#5: What's does the future hold for this film and you?:

We will be expanding to create more episodes. Each episode the devils will take down a bad HUman.
