Borrego Springs Film Festival is a festival which will and should climb to be recognized as not only a top Tier Festival but also an Academy and BAFTA qualifier. Here are my reasons:
1. I have been in Cannes film festival. As a matter of fact that was my first and I have been to dozens and dozens of Festivals all around with my films. This is by far the most organized festival I have ever been and as a filmmaker that is gold.
2. The communication with the organizers and volunteers is unparalleled. I have never felt a festival so interested in our work and us. Plus the organizers go above ad beyond to help the filmmakers land in a safe and nice place to enjoy the festival and even got some discounts from different hotels for this purpose.
3. The community of Borrego is the welcoming like you can't imagine but not only that, they are an avid audience willing to spend days watching all films. I have never had a Q&A with people so involved in the films, extremely verbal about their opinions. This goes to a place where during the award ceremony the audience actually knows which film is winning the award and they get excited when the films they loved actually won an award. As an artist the love and appreciation of our audience is everything and BSFF has the best audience I have ever been part of.
4. I wish I could keep Borrego Springs a secret forever since it's a wonderful place hidden from the Hollywood vibe. So close to LA and yet a world apart. This is a true Oasis but also I want to see BSFF to grow exponentially so I will say it like it is. There is no more beautiful place to have a film festival and if you ever get to go there you'll see why. Everyone who has ever visit Anza Borrego knows this is the truth. It is a beautiful place and I can't wait to shot a new film there.
5. All the guests are as nice as the community and the hosts. There is a sense of camaraderie between filmmakers and it is so nice to get to talk to so many great artists also sharing their work.
6. They have so many amazing resorts to stay in. Trust me, you'll feel treated like a king with luxuries in some of them at very affordable rates. Best thing in them, the quiet time starting at 10pm. This town is mostly for adults so if you are looking for a spot to enjoy some quiet time Borrego will do it for you.
7. This was the 7th edition of the festival so I wanted to give 7th powerful reasons. Last one but not least. We are in love with Borrego and now even more after having attended their festival. This is now our favorite film festival ever and we can't wait to go back to it.

Wow, what a festival. Truly a gem in the desert. The BSFF team is kind, inclusive, communicative, and dedicated to independent film. From the second I arrived in Borrego Springs I felt at home. The natural beauty of the location, the wonderful people I met, the sold out screenings and panels, all of it was incredible. Submit to BSFF and make sure you come if you're fortunate enough to get selected.

Wonderful festival. I am so happy I was able to attend and show my film William's Words. The staff and volunteers went out of their way to make filmmakers feel welcome. I am working on another film and putting Borrego Springs at the top of my submission list.

Borrego Springs has been our best experience at a film festival to date. Matt, Pam and the entire team go out of their way to ensure a great time. Every screening is packed with enthusiastic, knowledgeable audience members who make the Q&A a lively experience. After our screening we were constantly stopped by locals who wanted to say how much they enjoyed our film. While we were honored to take home three awards, our biggest takeaway from Borrego Springs will always be the people. When they say that this is a filmmakers festival they mean it! We can’t wait to make a return trip.

This is a filmmakers' festival! If you want people to actually show up to see your film, this is the place to go. The entire town comes out and supports the film community. Every show was packed with people. The communication was first class. The films were first class. The hospitality was first class. They treated us like royalty. From a film community perspective, Borrego Springs is already a coveted festival. We will definitely be resubmitting future films. Such a fun experience!

The Borrego Springs Film Festival is truly a filmmakers festival. There are only a hand full of festivals that make you feel like what you do is important, this is one. It is run by genuinely warm and caring people. Your film will look and sound the way you intended in a lovely up to date 180 seat theater, to packed houses...and yes, even if it's a 9:30am block. Smart, savvy audiences will engage you during Q&A's as well as approaching you in and around town to discuss your work. A beautiful location, hotel discounts, food voucher, parties...I could go on. If this festival is not on your radar, it should be. You will not be disappointed.

Borrego Springs Film Festival is a MUST ATTEND fest. They value their filmmakers with packed screenings in a wonderful venue that seats 180, provide a lounge with snacks and camaraderie, schedule unique excursions and run an organized and friendly fest from top to bottom. Besides discounts on local hotels, their food and drink-filled parties keep you fed. The curation of films is also outstanding and features films from all over the world. RUN don't walk to this festival.

An absolutely incredible film festival. The team behind the BSFF is one of the most organized, thoughtful, and friendly group of people I've seen in the festival community. What they're doing in Borrego is something truly special, and I can't wait to go back!
Highly recommend submitting to this wonderful festival, and especially taking the trip out there! The people of Borrego Springs are truly amazing human beings, and always come to fill up the theater to its maximum potential. Come and make a trip out of it!
