Big Number Thirteen!

The 13th Annual Borrego Springs Film Festival arrives January 14 – 18, 2026! Beginning December 15th, you can get your Festival Passes and Block Passes at the website: borregospringsfilmfestival.org.
The exquisite beauty of the Borrego desert has always attracted filmmakers and location scouts to the town and its surroundings, and as BSFI president Fred Jee will tell you, the list of movies and television shows that have shot in our valley is long. But in more recent years, Borrego Springs has also become known for its film culture, and specifically, as a great place to watch movies!
As such, from April to December, the Borrego Springs Film Institute (BSFI) has been presenting movies at the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center (BSPAC), free of charge, every other Wednesday night, with film licensing costs underwritten by The Borrego Valley Endowment Fund (BVEF). In addition, last spring BSFI purchased a new 4K projector, and BSPAC installed a new sound system, so screenings look and sound better than ever!
And now we’re gearing up for the 13th BSFF! Screening 73 exceptional independent films, shorts, features, animation and documentaries, ranging in style and genre, over five days, with community panels at the Borrego Springs Library, plus top-notch parties and galas with attending filmmakers and festival pass-holders; the 13th BSFF opens on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with a full day of FREE screenings - no tickets necessary - at the Library, and continues Thursday through Sunday, with screening Blocks presented at BSPAC, and concludes with an Awards Ceremony at the theater, on Sunday evening, January 18, 2026.
