The Motorcycle Man

SHORT | 10:45

A 21st century trip set in the birthplace of the 60's, this slice of Americana stars Tony Award winner John Glover as an easy-riding and sharp-tongued guide to two young travelers looking for Ken Kesey's cabin deep in Northern California's Santa Cruz Mountains. Examining ideas of autonomy, cultural literacy, and unexpected connection, the film was shot by National Geographic's Emmy winning director of photography Ben Mullin and directed by Northern California filmmaker Jason Ward.

Director Biography - Jason Ward

Jason Ward is a award-winning Northern California filmmaker whose short film 'The Motorcycle Man' has been described as "a poetic road film with an authentically American spirit, an intimate and sharp portrait of American counterculture, seen through the eyes and words of someone who actually lived it" (Moda & Motori Magazine). He won the Best Director award at the film's World Premiere in Ithaca, New York in April.

His previous (and first) film was the multiple-awarded feature, "650 - or Why I Want to Blow Up Silicon Valley," which premiered at the Breckenridge Festival of Film, and is set against the emerging tech culture of the late-1990's. That film was honored at Breckenridge, Berkeley, and Philadelphia Film Festivals and screened internationally in programs including Rio de Janeiro and Bermuda. He has an AB in English from Princeton University.
