Director Biography - Caroline Friend

Caroline Friend is a filmmaker passionate about telling undiscovered true stories. Her latest short, Poisoned Skies, was produced through the MPI Short Film Lab and tells the true story of a 1950s whistleblower scientist facing pressure to stay silent about a deadly smog disaster. Caroline’s short film Under Darkness premiered at Telluride, won the Horizon Award at Sundance, and was a finalist for the Student Academy Awards. A graduate of USC with degrees in Film Production and History, Caroline’s work has been recognized by the Directors Guild of America and the Television Academy.
