Director Biography - Edward Worthy

Edward Worthy is an award-winning screenwriter and director. Born in Jackson, Mississippi. Edward studied film as an undergraduate student at the University of Southern Mississippi. He then attended graduate film school at Florida State University. Now living in Los Angeles, Edward works as a freelance Editor and Assistant Editor. He is a 2019 Stowe Story Lab fellow for his feature script titled, “Crescent”. His most recent short film “Rear”, won Best Mississippi Short Film at the Oxford, Mississippi Film Festival, where he was awarded the New Filmmaker camera grant from Panavision. The film also won the Audience award for a Social Justice Film at the Charlotte Film Festival, Outstanding Director of a narrative short at the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival, Best screenplay at the Wyoming Film Festival and runner up for Best Short Film at the Denton Black Film Festival.
