5Q's w/: Rodrigo Moreno Fernandez "El Lloron" Director, Writer, Producer
QUESTION 1: What about your film excites you the most?
Our goal has always been to provide some relief for people dealing with the loss of a loved one.. Hopefully, we can provide a moment of laughter and reflection.
QUESTION 2: What is it about your current movie that will influence your next film?
The exploration of character is something that I am obsessed with. This film inspires me to keep working on it.
QUESTION 3: When you’re shooting a film do you think of time as something you capture or something you construct?
It starts with something you want to construct. You try your best to set the pace or rhythm, but at the end, if you are lucky, the movie takes over, and you need to be prepared to capture it.
QUESTION 4: What’s a limitation you wish you had on your next shoot that would force you into making interesting creative decisions?
To feel uncomfortable; be nervous. Feel the pressure and tension every time. Without a challenge, it won't feel deserved. If everything feels calm, I believe, you are doing it wrong.
QUESTION 5: If a film shoot is like a living organism which department do you think functions as its nervous system?
Photography feels like your limbs; they get you places and form the things you need. Production design is your voice, how you present your thoughts, and how you speak. Your production team will be your brains in which decisions are made. Your actors get to pump blood throughout, and your supporting cast will make sure we have the oxygen we need. But it is the crew; the ADs, Sound People, Camera Department, etc... they are our nervous system. They make sure all of those organs are functioning and move the right way.
