5Q's w/: Allyson Morgan "The Ghost" Director, Writer

QUESTION 1: What about your film excites you the most?

This is my directorial debut! So everything about making it — from writing (and rewriting) the script, to hiring crew, to casting actors, then bringing it to life on set, was both challenging and rewarding. It's also a deeply personal genre mash-up piece, so I think audiences will find something in it to hang on to.

QUESTION 2: What is it about your current movie that will influence your next film?

The positive, working relationships I formed with my key crew made me realize that movie making can be fun, creative, and collaborative, and doesn't always have to feel stressful.

QUESTION 3: When youre shooting a film do you think of time as something you capture or something you construct?

All storytelling, even in non linear form, is about a moment in time, so for me this film is about capturing the time in which this woman hit her breaking point.

QUESTION 4: Whats a limitation you wish you had on your next shoot that would force you into making interesting creative decisions?

I would love to be gifted a unique location where we needed to shoot - it would save money and inspire new ideas.

QUESTION 5: If a film shoot is like a living organism which department do you think functions as its nervous system?

It's the singularity - ideally, all players on a set are thinking as one to achieve the best possible outcome.
