QUESTION#1: What about your film excites you the most?: Telling a dramatic and honest rags to richest story while simultaneously commenting on a famous painting was very tricky and very exciting to pull off. Also, the response I’ve been getting from former addicts has been very touching and moving.

QUESTION#2: What is it about your current movie that will influence your next film?: I experimented with the style of blocking used in theater that actually Steven Spielberg made Famous in cinema. I didn’t know if I could pull it off, but it worked great and now it’s part of my style moving forward. I love it.

QUESTION#3: When you’re shooting a film, do you think of time as something you capture or something you construct?: Definitely somthing i construct. In the edit I can make something look like it happened over three weeks time or something that happened in one day. The only thing you capture in the moment is emotion.

QUESTION#4: What’s a limitation you wish you had on your next shoot that would force you into making interesting creative decisions?: Well, I’ve been an Indie filmmaker since 2003. So all I have is limitations. My next wish would actually be a few less limitations. If possible!

QUESTION#5: If a film shoot is like a living organism, which department do you think functions as its nervous system?: Camera department is the nervous system. What good is a script and a prop and an actor and a location without the camera to capture it? What good is an arm and a brain and a heart without the nervous system to activate it.
